Step by step to do a giveaway on Instagram

Writer: Glaucia SantosGlaucia Santos

Using International Women's Day as an example, I'm sharing my experience with giveaways and I created a step-by-step guide on how to do a giveaway on Instagram, which if you follow correctly, will be a hit!

Obviously, it all starts with the prize idea: consider the costs and the returns (not just financial) that this giveaway can bring to your business.

Once you've decided which of the Women's Day giveaway ideas for local businesses resonates with the most, it's time to get your hands dirty in no time!

Especially because this raffle action is nothing more than a recognition marketing strategy, which helps attract new customers, with the aim of making them repeat customers.

Therefore, consider this effort as an investment, and all expenses, such as CAC - Customer Acquisition Cost, in addition to the lifetime value, or LTV, which means the total value that a customer will bring to the company during the entire period in which they are a customer.

Considering these factors helps to better understand the return on investment of marketing actions and to plan more effective strategies to capture and keep customers in the long term.

Finally, what to do with a raffle on women's day, and the answer from Singular Content is:

Only the draw lol. That is, get ready in early March, so that your draw is a success, and I say this from experience, huh.

Step by step to make a giveaway on Instagram

When I started doing a giveaway on Instagram, first for a local pizzeria and then for a virtual sneaker store, I realized that in all communication I needed to adapt the tone of voice to the specific audience..

In the case of Women's Day, or any other commemorative date, you need to be attentive to details so that your communication is accurate and reaches the right audience: not only for the draw, but also for your future customer!

Below, I leave you with a list of how to prepare for the draw on International Women's Day, which helped me a lot and I imagine will help you too:

  1. Define the prize of the raffle on Women's Day;

  2. Choose the period to compete in the draw;

  3. Which platform the draw will be announced and which will be awarded;

  4. Which sweepstakes tool will be used? Is it free? Is it paid?

  5. Will the draw be live or recorded?

  6. What are the rules of the draw?

  7. You'll need a designer to create the giveaway artwork (it helps a lot)!

  8. What posts should I make to stir up the crowd until the day of the draw?

  9. Will you announce the giveaway to increase the reach and number of participants?

  10. Will you need a Paid Traffic Manager? How much do you have to invest?

  11. Did the raffle arouse interest from other women in buying/acquiring services?

  12. What return/profit obtained through this giveaway?

  13. How will the winner withdraw the prize?

  14. Until what date can the winner withdraw the prize?

  15. Does the winner allow a video or photo with the company?

  16. What other lessons did this raffle bring? What went wrong and what went right?

This Step by Step to make a giveaway on Instagram was very useful for me, both as a social media manager and for paid traffic, in which I was able to help my clients to have a result above expectations.

The lesson I can add about giveaways is: "The best kind of marketing doesn't look like marketing" - Tom Fishburne.

I hope I have helped with my experience, if you liked the post share it with an entrepreneur friend!

Happy giveaway and good sales, see you in the next post!
